This is a purely informational website. It does not use cookies, tracking, analytics tools, contact forms, comment functions or social media plugins. Personal data is processed only to the extent described below.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (“Cloudflare”). When you visit this website, Cloudflare automatically processes technical data that your browser transmits, in particular the IP address, date and time of the request, the requested page, browser type and version, and operating system (server log files).
This processing is necessary to deliver the website, to ensure its stability and security, and to defend against attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and reliable operation of the website).
Cloudflare acts as our processor on the basis of a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Data may be processed on servers outside the European Union, including in the United States. Transfers are safeguarded by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, as applicable. 4. Contact by e-mail
If you contact us by e-mail, we process the data you provide (name, e-mail address, content of your message) to handle your inquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your inquiry relates to a (prospective) mandate, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to inquiries).
As a patent attorney, Dr. Philip Weisshuhn is bound by professional secrecy. Information you share in connection with a mandate is additionally protected by the statutory duty of confidentiality.
E-mail is handled by our e-mail provider Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, as our processor pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.
5. Storage periods
Server log files are stored by the hosting provider for a limited period for security purposes and then deleted or anonymised. E-mail correspondence is stored as long as necessary to handle your inquiry; where correspondence relates to a mandate, statutory professional and commercial retention obligations apply.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) (Art. 21). To exercise your rights, contact us at paweisshuhn@gmail.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. 7. No automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
